No, it's rubbish and/or illegal - take your pick. 1 licence - 1 machine unless you have a corporate copy (which can cover any particular number of installations but if not acquired legally, as an OEM user, is useless)0

I think what he means is that Microsoft will let you activate it 6 times before they ask questions ! which illegally can be put on 6 machines, but this is illigal as Tallymanjohn pointed out. 1 license 1 machine:rolleyes:If it doesn't fit, force it; if it breaks, it needed replacement anywaySarcasm helps keep you from telling people what you really think of them

You can purchase OEM copies of Windows Xp for around £60If it doesn't fit, force it; if it breaks, it needed replacement anywaySarcasm helps keep you from telling people what you really think of them

Am I right in thinking that they're not selling XP licences any more? But if you buy one of the newer licences, I was told I could use it to cover installing XP on another machine. That's what I've done with Office at work: want all the machines running the same stuff!
I hope what I've just said makes sense ... :rotfl:Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I havent seen anywhere that they have stopped selling them but i could be wrong, unless you mean the support for windows sp1 ? and below ?If it doesn't fit, force it; if it breaks, it needed replacement anywaySarcasm helps keep you from telling people what you really think of them

Maybe I'm getting confused about when I was attempting to ensure we had fully licensed software (which didn't seem to be the situation I'd inherited!) We had a couple of really old machines still running Win98, which we couldn't upgrade to XP, and the advice was to buy XP but keep Win98 installed ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

With the WGA its a once only thing now, I just bought a new copy of XP Pro for a colleague and it has to be activated on first use or after 30days thats your lot, their are two methods of bulk license, per seat/per session/per user or per session, per session/per server is about how many connections on a server with current licences and the other is about how many stations/PCs are being used with an individual licence.0
