Kaspersky Update - Failed

I downloaded the KIS version 11.0.2.556 and updated my laptop successfully. However, when I tried to update my desktop with the same version, I got the following msg 'Your computer already has another localisation of a Kaspersky lab app installed. Please uninstall it before installing KIS 2011'.

On both machines, I had the 0.1.400 version; what I would like to iunderstand is why the previous version was deleted on the laptop before installing the new version, yet it's asking me to delete it first from the desktop. I'm not happy about deleting first in case I lose my license, but can anyone please explain what may be casing this anomaly. Ah - the joys of computing!!!

  • When you open KIS, click on the 'My Kaspersky Account' on the bottom. This opens up the Kaspersky website and once you're in, the activation code(s) you need will be in there.

Use the KIS removal tool to fully uninstall before you reinstall the newer version.
