Re: Virgin Credit Card Security????

Options
Hi Guys,

Sorry but have just called Virgin and they wanted a name of someone they could talk to re my a/c in my absence. When I asked why they said due to security. I was a bit confused as not had it with anyone else but said sure my parter. They then asked for my OH dob and name etc...whn I said why do you need that he then advised he would "add" him to the card.

I said I didn't want anything like that as he's my common law partner, I just thought it was for the phone like he said in the first place.

Has anyone else heard of this...is it odd or common practice?

It is odd that they would "coerce" you into adding a 3rd party to the account.

There is no prerequisite for this and them shoving the idea down your throat is indeed odd. You are well within your rights to say "I don't want an authorised 3rd party on my account, thanks. Now, about my query..."

I'd call back to make sure they haven't sent out a card for him - perhaps the advisor was trying to send out an additional card holder but not being straight with you about it?
