Discount brokers

Does anyone know of a better discount broker than Hargreaves Lansdown?
I have used them for some time and their discounts are good but they send so much mail and their web pages are awful. Tonight I cannot find a way to get into the list of my investments using the correct Login etc.

    For what product?

They are hard to beat on ISAs but can be beaten on fund supermarket pensions/Hybrid SIPPs.

One suspects HL has received this message, as they are just about to launch a new site.

Personally I use Selftrade, as my portfolio is mainly shares. But they also do a lot of funds and discount initial charges, but probably not the AMC.Verry low ISA/PEP fee of 25 quid, regardless of size of fund. PM me if you want to move there as there is an "introduce a friend scheme" under which we would both get 50 quid :)They are very efficient and the site is easy to use.No annual fee.

I currently use HL myself and am very satisfied with the service offered. Never had any problems at all with the site, and personally find navigating it relatively easy. Their online portfolio statements and the ability to switch fund holdings online is also a nice touch. Good discounts, good phone service, mailings etc, can't fault them!

Just opened a shares account with Hoodless Brennan, as they seem to offer a good online service and low trading charges. Early days with them yet, but I'm hoping for more of the same.

I did have a look at the Selftrade and might give them a try for this year's mini equity ISA. The problem with the site is sorted now. The login problem was my own fault but having said that I have found in the past that it did not always work as one would expect.

In response to Dunstonh - I was trying to look at my individual investments because I received a letter about Credit Suisse. They were saying that the manager of the fund I have is leaving and is the fourth manager to leave this year. They suggested a couple of other funds to transfer to. It's odd that the performance chart for this company on HLs site looks good but when you look at Citywire rankings they are well down in the Equity Income sector.
