    Wood and MDF are two totally different things. MDF is, at the end of the day, nothing more than compressed paper.

    Astonishing then ... how versatile it is in moisture laden bathrooms?

    It's inert and very stable ..... provided you take the simple precaution of painting / sealing it thoroughly.
    If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !
