The things you fix to a pipe the limescale preventers that are magnetic can they be used on a combination condenser boiler central heated system?
Also will they prevent build up of limscale of shower doors and pipes and things and the toilet etc?

I did read a report that said half the people who used them thought they were brilliant and half thought they did no good.
Some science boffins have questioned to theory behind them also.
If you want to give it a go, I doubt it could do any harm!I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Well I'd like to but its the fact that I'm not sure if it works ok with my heating system. I have been told it cant be used on a combination or combination/condensing heating system but I wanted to make sureThanx

This is a well known scam, do a search on this forum for past discussions.
This website: http://www.chem1.com/CQ/gallery.html lists some of the fakes out there, the big clue really is the vast variety of scientific methods claimed; clear proof that the manufacturers haven't a clue what they are talking about.
Give it a go if you want as it certainly won't harm anything apart from your bank balance.0

It's not - but these things allegedly charge the water borne particles and stop them sticking to your pipes / tanks (you drink them / wash your hair with them instead;) ).
To the OP. I had bore hole water at my last house and it was hard as a rock. I had one of these devices wound round my pipes for several years .. and it was still hard as a rock. Our lovely new kitchen tap had it's end so calcified it looked as though it had been cemented.
Seen too many acclaiming posts to be a total disbeliever - but they don't work on Yorkshire bore hole water. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
