Fiat Punto, Where Do I Put Water In??

You don't put water in. It will need an antifreeze mixture to top it up and it won't make any difference to your "tappety sounds" engine. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Keep a close eye on the coolant level. Its a fairly fragile system and I'd regularly check your levels. Do not use water by itself regularly. Top up using a pre-mixed solution.
Coolant has a habit of finding any weak spots, causing leakage. Check for any wet patches on the ground. The heater blowing cold can also suggest a problem here too.
If you continually use water, this can upset the system causing internal corrosion which will in turn cause your core plug to pop and your coolant to disappear which leads to overheating and bills!
Now is a great time to get your car serviced (if you haven't already done so) before the worst of winter arrives.'Money can't buy you happiness, but it does bring you a more pleasant form of misery'0
