Housing benefit run on

Hi
My housing benefit has been suspended until i send in proof of income as i have just gone self employed,
I have had notification that i have been awarded housing benefit run on.
Do i have to wait until my benefit is not suspended to recive this run on payment or will i get it straight away

    They should award the run on and only your future claim would be suspended.

    In practice, many places load the run on and suspend the claim as a move into work is only a change of circumstances now and you will have an ongoing claim which they need to amend before paying.
    I currently manage a Housing Benefit service and have been working in Housing / council tax benefit (as was) since 2001.
