Has the government moved the goalposts?
I have been receiving incapacity benefit for 15 years and disability living allowance for 6 years and had my last PCA 10 years ago.
I have now been called in for another assessment.
Is everybody having a new assessment?

Transformation of the PCA test
The goal posts are being moved.
It's this administrations intention that most people on DLA should be participating in Work Related Activities and consequently that means calling the sick and lame from their beds to attend PCAs.

PCA EXEMPT CONDITIONS
It sometimes happens that people who have PCA exempt status are sent for PCA. It may be human error or computer error. However if it does happen first ask the IB Decision Maker if you do need to attend. Failure to attend is a reason for benefit withdrawal so unless you want to fight it at appeal it's best to check first that it was in fact intended that you were sent for PCA.
If the IB decision maker, knowing you are in a PCA exempt status still requires you to attend the PCA then do attend but start the assessment by pointing out to the assessor that you consider yourself in a PCA exempt category and would be pleased if the assessor could explain the legality of continuing with the assessment. Do not at any time refuse to submit to an assessment as refusal to submit, albiet to an illegal assessment, may also be grounds for withholding benefit. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

I last had an assessment last year and had to go through the whole appeal process as I failed it. A couple of weeks ago I received my IB50 form through again and have had help to fill it in and am now going to be waiting for a call for the medical! Unless I dont get called in but I can just see myself having to go through the whole process again, to be honest I thought after my appeal they might leave me alone for a while - I was wrong!Weight Loss - 102lb0

Actually i have a question here, im hoping someone might be able to answer
I had my PCA earlier in the year, failed, took it to appeal and won. This was back in May i think it was.
Is there any time period inwhich they'll ask you to reattend a PCA? For some reason i've got it into my head its every 12 months, but im not sure where i've grasped that figure from. Im on Incapacity, not DLA.0 -
Im on Incapacity too and like you I had to attend an appeal tribunal in March which I won. I just received my new IB50 form a couple of weeks ago. So within the next couple of months I can probably expect to get called in for either a medical or told that the benefit will continue. They told me I had to have the form back in for the 16th November which is a year since my IB was stopped. However I received the IB50 form just a year after my medical.
I would have said approximately every 12 monthsWeight Loss - 102lb0 -

The time period between PCA's is usually between a year and five years.0 -
My last assesment was 4 years ago, i phoned and questioned why they hadn't called me in for a medical and was told that my IB is classed as open meaning it can run and run as it's linked into my DLA0

There is no real answer to this. Many people ,who have not been sent an ib50 for between 5 and 10 years ,or even longer are now receiving them.
On other forums, i have seen the same question asked and opinion seems to be that an ib50 is sent out between 1 year and five years after the last one, however as many people have not had one, for much longer than this, it does not really make sense.
There have been many changes to IB over the years but usually they only apply to new claimants,so someone on ib for 10 years,as an example, would not be sent for a work focused interview.
A friend of my family had his last ib50 in 1997 and received one in may this year, which he returned,he then waited 5 months, was not sent for a medical and received a letter saying he may be reviewed in 5 years time.He has never been in an exempt category.
There are two sides to every story.
