Laptops -Ethernet port

Options
Do all Laptops normally have an Ethernet port ?

I'm looking at specs of some laptops on Argos website, they give Wireless details, but don't list having Ethernet port.

I would have thought they would have Ethernet port for Wired network.

Yes, they all do. I've yet to come across one in the last 20 years that doesn't have one.

The MacBook Air doesn't have an ethernet port.
But Apple kindly offers you a USB to Ethernet adaptor- for just £25.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

To be fair to Apple, I think they'd have a job (or Jobs) squeezing an ethernet port into a case that thin. You can see the limited space available at the bottom of this page:

No way! Are you saying they have been *stupid* enough to allow a 'style' to dictate usability and features. Kinda reminds me of Homer Simpson and that car he designed...... :rotfl:

99% of the time I use wireless for networks but sometimes in a customer site they offer me an internet connection via a cable, it's not that long ago that the company I worked for (selling expensive laptops) locked down my system so I couldn't use wireless.
