Postage to Malta how long?

Hi
I sent an item to Malta on 31/10/06 as a small packet via airmail.
I don't normally post outside the UK as my auctions are set to UK only. The buyer bought my item on a buy it now and then asked how much the extra postage would be. His feedback was good so I thought it would be alright.
He's now asking for a tracking number which I don't have, as it has'nt arrived.
Does anyone now how long the delivery should take?

I haven't sold to Malta recently but I have sold a lot to Europe and the US. For me it seems to go in fits and starts, sometimes I go for days with my items arriving in 3-5 days and then I'll get a period where nothing arrives for 10-12 days.
