Messy external paintwork - how do I tidy it up a bit?

Hi everyone!

We have just recently bought a lovely big old terraced house but the people who were there before us weren't that keen on perfectionism!!!

It has definitely all been done on the cheap - internal and external!

But we got it for an excellent price and I am really not complaining (that much!!!)

Outside all the masonry work has been finished in a very slapdash way with bits of paint brushed onto the brickwork.

Is there anything I can use to try and get this off the paintwork to make a nice tidy job of it?

I can see me asking a lot of advice over the next year or two as I undertake more and more renovation work!!!

Thanks in advance

Terri
