ok i wake up turn on the computer and hey presto i have lost all my photos all my music downloads all my home movie thingys of my little boy and the tool bar is on the side of the screen and not along the bottom after many hours of trying to just work out how to get to toolbar back to normal i finally did it but... where the heck are all my photo's etc argh all this techie stuff!

yes, are you sure they have gone? Were they all in one directory? Have you tried doing a search, pictures?

yes did a search all in one directory well two picture and music folders lol no idea what im doing but hope it finds something.

Do you have more than one user account on your pc? Is it possible you logged on under a different user, and therefore are now looking at a different 'my documents' 'my pictures' etc?

nope its got my name up on the start button bit soo that will be the one crosses that one out no idea what happened one minute fine come back switch it on and only photo's and music are gone strange!

Ok, it is strange, Could you have accidently dragged the folder and dropped it into another sub-folder.

Can you do a windows search > Start > Search > and type *.mp3 or *.jpg or any part of a file name you can remember...

just going to have a look before i typed my sons name in and came up with two pictures but cant open the folder something like windows picture and fax veiwer i think it said am going to search again hold on!
