Atos cancelled

I was supposed to go and have my ESA medical today.

Based on their information provided, i needed to get 2 buses to them, and leave an hour and a half before the medical.

One hour before the medical (in theroy i should of left the house by then if i was getting the recommended buses) I receive a phone call to say the appointment had been cancelled as had others because there was only one doctor available.

I was being taken to the medical by car by a friend, so i didnt need to leave until 30 minutes before the medical.

Now I have worked myself up to today, got myself into a bit of a state, quite stressed and anxious, which has been documented on a recent Neuropsychology report as something i suffer from in anticipation of things i need to do.

Which in turn has flared up my usual problems with MS and i now have to wait until another appointment becomes available.

What can i do, I thought about perhaps if i contacted a decision maker for esa explained that this is what happens to me and how ill it makes me. (I've been away with the fairies on drugs all afternoon, which in turn has stopped me for saftey reasons for doing anything for myself more so.)

They have already ignored the recent esa50 form i sent them at their request, and contacted a gp i haven't seen for about 7 months because i have moved area's and no longer a patient, i gave the details on the new form of those that are involved in my care now here in the present. This as i have said has been ignored and information from my old esa50 from a year ago was used.

In between the the first and second form, a year has past and i have had a dx (first form had that i was being tested for MS) in between. (second form says the date i had the dx for MS.)

Now they havent seen the Neuropsychology report as i only recieved it myself on Monday, but I had it in my bag as requested of any letters from the Hospials that i attened.

Do you think it is worth me asking the DM what it is they need to know and point them in the right area? I don't think i can cope with this again, having a few weeks notice of medical, with my anxiety and stress and worry building up that i work myself up into a state. It's not doing my MS anygood, My Gp did fax them at their request, for a home visit which was denied and no reason given.

Send in a report from your specialist and new GP. However, as they have now decided that you need a medical it is unlikely they will change their mind. They should pay for a taxi for you if you cannot use public transport.

this is the second time it had to be cancelled.

And yes they have offered to pay for a taxi.

I just don't feel i am able to cope with trying to go again, wouldn't be so bad it they would accept a home visit, as it would be easier for me to cope with, i suppose i find going out a stuggle now, more with meeting people and new things and new people, and the carp that goes with the parking in disabled bays looking normal, the drunk walk, the slight slurred words etc..

At least i know when i say the wrong words that it is because my brain is failing me, that's now proven in the report, and not just me, people that know me, know and usually guess what i am trying to say, strangers not so easy to explain.

I've said the wrong words on here and have people have a go, then someone that knows me will go on to explain (or me).

It sounds like having to visit the assessment centre, whilst stressful, would be a good way of showing them how unwell you are?

I can see your point there, I'm not trying to get out of being seen, but just the thought of going through this again... it's not good for my health, i'll be the one the suffers more than i already am.

i would contact atos again now theyve cancelled twice and request yet again a home visit, they have the GP request and that going to the centre will impeade your health. tell them that you got in a statethe first time worse this time, you cannot cope they inconvienieced you so they should really be lenient.

Atos appear to have a a lot of nerve to call themselves medical professionals. They appear to be able to come up with an "assessment" over the course of an hour (approx) where they can be better informed about someone health problems (physical or mental) than any number of consultants.

Try contacting Welfare Rights. They have been so good when they assisted me and gave reassurance when i was very worried

i sat in a medical and forgot everything even name, took medicines in a bag and just handed it to him ...least can see how bad i am ..said next time best to bring some one with you to talk ...as im deaf and they all have weird accents it went well LOL ...the next time i managed to get my brother to come and only was in there abiout 10 mins as he said he had given up ..on standing balance thing i fell on the floor ,then on his desk ..i told him ...but i always try and at least they can see what it is like for you ...which i think is right

my brother him self saw at a atos medical .one turned out he was a surgeon , which was lucky as brother whole chest tummy is a walking patch work ..he was well interested on the surgeon's that did the ops and that he was still alive and managed to work full time for 26 years , until body given up ....but seeing him was no good if you had other prob s
