Your suggestion about "dropping hints" is merely acting in collusion to deprive the honest taxpayer.
Sorry, just saw this bit terry....
It's not really to be honest...it's trying to make the best of a situation for all involved.
In all honesty, could the fraud be proved? Is there a definite paper trail or is it, as I suspect, been a 'cash in hand' job where she will turn round and either a) deny it or b) claim it was pocket money for the kids
Yes he could go to the DWP and grass her in but it's not going to change the DEO on his wage. She has been happy to reap the benefits (in more ways than one!!) so I personally feel that a solution of what I suggested is a fairer one - for everyone.
But hey, if we disagree - we disagree!!;)0 -
if my children lived with me they could have all my money not just 25%. my ex kicked me out. i left with my clothes. i paid for everything in the house so witty comments about wishing kids only took 25% are not appreciated0

If people are dealing "cash in hand" to defraud the authorities then they deserve anything that comes to them. Full stop, in my opinion.
It is not a question of "grassing".
Anyone in this sort of situation should always ensure that there is "paper trail".

Hindsight is a wonderful though eh?;)
If I had it then I wouldn't have got myself into the scrapes I have over the years!!
I am not by any means advocating fraud - I was just trying to give advice to the OP on how to move forward. There's no point commenting about the past as it can't be changed.0 -

dave,
I assume that this comment is aimed at me. I have not made a witty comment. But in fairness, 25 per cent of take-home pay to pay for one's own 3 children is a reasonable amount."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

Can we all be nice to each other please? Loopy/speedster the troll post has been deleted as spam as it directs people to another website (where is that roll eyes smilie when you need it!)
Terry - it is enough but Dave is a bit raw at the moment so perhaps you will understand why he is a little sensitive
Dave you are at the beginning of a long road and I can only tell you it will get better, just put your kids at the top of the list and you cant go far wrong. Free/impartial debt advice: Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) | National Debtline | Find your local CAB0 -
You said it no one else did, so who are we to disagree with your opinion of yourself?Loopy_Girl wrote: »Yeah well...I can only hope that you don't think I am the scum that you clearly think I am with a tunnel vision....doubt it really but hey ho0 -
Guys
Dave need help and support.
Dave,
I understand this is rather raw at the mo but right now the law is the law, so spending energy getting upset is not going to make any difference to the outcome; it the old serenity prayer thing," please give me strength to do what I can, strength to accept when I cannot do anythign and the wisdom to know the difference."
I cannot help you with the law, but there are loads of folk who can help you live as well as posible on a limited budget.
Please come over to the money saving oldstyle forum and possibly the debt free wannabees (even if you have not debt). As a rule the folk there are really friendly.

I dont think the CSA would be so blindly stupid. If you declare homeless, your income stops so does the CSA money.
If the CSA behaves like a twit then treat them like one.
There is lots of positive constructive help available on the internet in a troll-free envoronment. Google for "CSA, NRP Fairness, Advice"0
