As for home visit, if you can get there by a lift from a family member, you should have no problem with a taxi..

Explain the need for a taxi, provide medical evidence if required and ask if they will refund taxi-fares.
This needs to be done in advance though, dont just get a taxi there and expect to be paid for it on the ady iunless they have agreed in advance.

I was thinking this very thing, a taxi will exhaust me especially both ways but it has a lesser chance of throwing me into relapse which is what public transport will definately do. My problem is i'm not far off relapse now with all the stress so if i ask for a taxi and i'm in relapse (more then likely) it will set me back intensely with regards to a worsening of symptoms.

Not to mention the medical itself sounds like an ordeal beyond all ordeals. So the question is should i make myself sick for the sake of getting there or not?

The time it takes to get there is only 14 minutes off there threshold whereby they will home visit. Its 1 hour and 16 mins. there is a huge difference between that and lets say 40 mins. In fact just looking at that figure my 1st thought is that its honestly just to long.

Do you have a CPN? You really need some 'real life' support with this.
    Gone ... or have I?

what is a CPN i can't seem to find it, i'm going to CAB tomorrow which are suppose to be great but there hours are very restrictive.

Community psychiatric nurse? Let me just edit in a response one sec...

I don't and i wasn't aware i should (or rather i've never heard of them), i've seen a psychiatric nurse specialist in the past and i'm on the waiting list to see the GP clinic team who i'm told do CBT as well as more general stuff but aside from that the only support i have is through the CFS team at my clinic who said i contact them as and when but i doubt they have the capacity to be there as much as i'd need.

You really sound like you need some professional support. If the CFS Team cannot help, please contact your GP and ask if they can refer you to the Mental Health Team. A CPN can speak to ATOS on your behalf, and some will accompany you to the medical to support you. CAB can be helpful, but most branches are under so much pressure that any assistance they can offer is likely to be limited. Unless you are one of the lucky few that still has a fully staffed branch, they may not even help unless your benefit is refused.

I'm seeing her on Monday and we'll see what she says, i'll fill out and take in the form they gave me to be referred to the psychiatric team which is x months late. I have been told that there's a waiting list of 3 months+ to see the team but perhaps the CPN is available on request/need?

My other option is the local CFS support group but I haven't been well enough to go yet and i don't want my first contact to be me walking in and waving my ESA50 under there nose and asking them to look at all my correspondences. Then agin desperate times and all that, if the nurse falls through i'll ring the support group.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

eskimo please calm down! your mind is racing and your posts are reflecting this, you are not the only one who hasnt had a pre board, its pretty common, half the stuff youve researched is not legislation! or strict guidline.

if your anything like me your obsessive to the point you got to go into all aspects of things reasearch everything AGAINST the situation and have sleepless nights worrying. your relatives want you to drop it as its affecting your health, no help to you i know but theyre seeing what we can interperate in your posts and thats PANICK! WORRY! ANXIETY!

concerntrate and focus on what YOUR case is about. NOT OTHERS,
youve put off the esa50 for a while exceeding the max time they have allowed and actioned a medical to assertain what infact is wrong medically.

taping this and requesting that is only going to make them think your deliberatly prolonging the medical because there isnt anything wrong with you.

all you need to do is have someone who you know that you know can reassure you and be a whitness to the assessment.

take your meds with you for them to see or a repeat script.

    liten carfully to the questions.
    e.g

    Q.
    can you read a magazine?

    A. no i cant read a magazine i cannot concerntrate long enough.

wrong correct answer would be yes but i can only read a few sentences then my concertration goes. basically the wrong correct asnwer is telling them YES you can read a magazine!

if you dont understand ask them to repeat the question but simpler so you fully understand!
