Child Tax Credits - filling out based on P60

Hi
I am recently back to work after 6 months of maternity leave. My husband is now staying home to look after the baby.

I had filled out the Child Tax Credits form just after the baby was born based on our P60s from the previous year. As I was on maternity leave, and my husband left his job, our financial situation is very different to the previous year.

Do we need to resubmit to CTC based on working out what our actual income was/is/will be? It would be easier to wait until we get our new P60s at the end of the next tax year in April - but will CTC backdate the difference?

Thanks

Yes they will backdate but you can phone them now and tell them your expected income this year and the should increase your payments now. They won't backdate in year but they will at the end of the year.
