Bunk Bed and Mattress'

Hi

My parents have given us some money as a gift to buy our boys a new bed. We've decided that getting them bunk beds would be more practical space-wise.

I'm not sure with going through search engines as I don't know most of the websites so I only want to buy from tried and tested sellers so we don't loose our money or end up with shoddy work.

Does anyone know somewhere with a good deal including mattress? So far the cheapest we've seen is £190 from Argos.

Thanks for the help in advance :)

You are more likely to pay more for poor quality with Argos.

Also don't go for a bunkbed and mattress package, as they usually only supply budget mattresses that you can feel the springs through.

As a general rule, Argos don't sell good quality mattresses.

If you buy on line, then make sure you buy from a seller with a good returns policy.

Without leaving myself open to an accusation of advertising, I can recommend the blue and yellow Swedish shop.

I bought a bunk bed(wooden) and mattresses and although its only used occasionally, its really comfortable.

My kids love it and I've been know to snatch a nights sleep on it now and again.

ahh thats a shame, i recently bought my boys bunk beds from there, i got the metal ones that has a double bed on the bottom and a single bed on the top for £99.
they already had a decent single mattress and the double mattress i got with my tesco vouchers just before xmas when hey done they double up scheme so only had to add £15 pounds towards the silent nigh miracoil one. i think they were called thefurnitureoutletvillage they had one in southend too but have not been there.

Hmmm maybe Ikea, or was that a tongue in cheek question?

Ikea beds will be 6ft6 long so if space is tight maybe not the best to go for. The bunk I'm guessing will be nearer 6ft10 or more depending on how big the posts are.

£190 budget for what is 2 beds, frame and matt each is not a lot. Maybe £250-£280 is nearer the mark for half decent matts on the bunk.

As Tim said. Stay away from packages, they are cheap for a reason. Horrible nasty cheap mattress to keep the price down.
