well it might save me a few pounds, but time is precious to me too as Im really busy (and i dont mean socialising I have lots of things I help out with). For instance to catch a bus tomorrow i would either need to leave home at 8:30 to walk 30mins into town to catch the bus, spend one hour on the bus to get to work, then once i finish my shift wait half hour for the bus to take me back home, sit on the bus again for an hr, walk back from town to home 30mins. or I catch one bus, then switch and catch the next, still an hour on the bus. Its just not as straight forward as jumpin on the bus and getting there. mind u it would keep me fit! maybe i should do it lol. :)

oh and got through to orange, they let me change my tariff, saved £10 per month wahoo.

Well done with Orange :T Another good result for you and glad to see that they were a bit flexible with you

  • Hi - have you got a new bank account yet as RAS I think it was suggested? if you move your salary to a new bank you don't owe money to you can then ensure your priority bills get paid and anything left you can use to arrange payment plans with your creditors.
You shouldn't try and arrange payment plans with your creditors without a new bank account as as they have your bank account details they may try and take their payments anyway - hence you need a fresh account at a different bank.
The SOA should show you how much 'spare' you have each month to split between the people you owe money to. National Debtline or CCCS or your local CAB can also help with arranging plans as well.

  • You are not getting enough income -surely you should be entitled to some benefits on that wage - you need to have a look on the website entitled to to see what you can claim.
You also neeed to think about defaulting on the Barclays loan - is it secured on unsecured - obviously if it is secured you may need to continue paying it - you can't really afford to at the moment but if it is only for a short time while the house is sold then you may need to continue doing so.
Without a SOA it is diffcult to advise properly but keeping a spending diary may also prove useful to you so you can see exactly where your money is going.

try a jewellers that sells second hand jewellery and see what they offer you for the rings. Compare their offer to the "cash for gold" type people and see how that compares.

    Good luck

Have tried to sell my wedding and engagement rings but the swines tried to rip me off so Im going to try and sell it privately. Was going to sell them on ebay but I dont have the original receipt for them!

Unless the rules are different for jewellery and wedding items, you don't need receipts for Ebay! Just remember to ONLY post Recorded Delivery so you can claim for any loss and track the package - then no buyers can claim they never received their items!

Just a quick few points as I pass on my way to bed...

    1) you must be covering some serious miles if your car is economical and you're still spending £130 on fuel! I can't believe it's cheaper than the bus. You haven't completed a full SOA and therefore the cost of tax, insurance, MOT needs to be considered. It might take you longer on the bus, but at the moment your sheets just don't balance, you need to compromise somewhere!

    2) reference to kiki's last comment, be careful on eBay. Use SPECIAL DELIVERY for items of jewellery like that, otherwise take out postal insurance, recorded delivery will only re-imburse you £45 in the case of a lost/damaged item.

Just a few thoughts! Good luck, I'm sure it'll sort itself in the end.

    Moz.
