We normally have a network card at a cost of £25 Would we benefit by buying senior cards at £26 each?

I thin if you travel away from the network railcard area it would be better having a senior railcard BUT I'm not familiar with the network railcard as i live in the north.

A Network Card only covers a small part of the Railway network, a Senior railcard if you qualify covers the whole railway network.

There are also a lot more restrictive conditions on a Network card than on a Senior card. Times of trains, min fare, etc.
