magnetic dog collars

I have a 12 yr old spaniel X lab, who has suffered with arthritis for around the past 3 years.
she is still very lively, but some days, especially in the winter she does seem to struggle a bit more than usuall.
she has a tablet prescribed by the vets everyday and a glucosamaine tablet daily. but as a bit of a boost i'm thinking of getting a magnetic therapy collar for her to wear.
I have looked on the net and found a couple, but does anyone else use one of these and what are your thoughts/results on them?

It's really weird and the "science" behind them is dubious but I know of several people who use them and have seen improvements in their dogs. A good company will give you a month's trial when you can get your money back if it doesn't work so it could be worth getting one and seeing what happens.0

My Dad has worn one for years (a Bioflo bracelet, not a collar!) and swears by it, I've also used one on 4 dogs: 2 seemed less stiff and happier to join in walks, 2 didn't show any effects at all ..... If money was no object (if only!) then I'd certainly give it a go.Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!0

If you go on Ebay you can get them for less than £100

My dog has a bioflow one for arthritis and the difference is amazing. they are around £30 but have a 90 money back guarantee so if it doesn't work you can send it back.If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0

I received a Bioflow collar in the post today. Henry (14yo dachshund - will be 15 in March) has been wearing it for just under 12 hours. It may be wishful thinking on my part, but he seems happier in himself, a little more lively, and seems to be negotiating the various low steps around the ground floor of the house with a little less difficulty.
The literature that came with it warned that, due to the detoxifying effects of the magnet therapy, you should always make sure that there is plenty of drinking water available. He has been noticeably drinking more water during the day.
I'm prepared to give it a good trial to see what happens.0 -
I had great results with a Norstar magnetic pet collar on my arthritic 14year old collie/spaniel xHandle every stressful situation like a dog.
If you can't eat it or play with it ....... just pee on it and walk away.0 -
placebo effects wouldn't work on dog but it seems to work on owners.0

My 11 year old Great Dane wears a Bioflow. When we picked him up from the rescue centre he walked 'back end down' he looked like he was always stooping to go to the toilet, a week or so of wearing his collar his back end was back up and walking fine again.
Now he can charge about the garden along with the young ones.
If you can afford it , go for it OP, IMHO2 angels in heaven :A0 -
Another vote for the Bioflow.
One of my old boys (aged 11) was struggling to lie down - he would go around and around for ages - since wearing the Bioflow he seems much more settled and comfortable.
We actually got him the collar because my OH had bought me a Bioflow bracelet for Christmas - I had a lot of knee pain and struggled to walk. I put the bracelet on at lunchtime and the next morning I ran down the stairs without even thinking about it - in fact, it was my OH that noticed! Trust me, this was no "placebo effect" - I was extremely sceptical about their claims - but it works for me.
ETA - beware of cheap fakes - make sure it is a genuine Bioflow."Men are generally more careful of the breed(ing) of their horses and dogs than of their children" - William Penn 1644-1718

Sorry to butt in on your thread.....But I'm considering getting one of these for myself!
I would be wary of "fakes!" I can't seem to find Bioflow's own website?
Also all the websites that do sell them I have never heard of? Does anyone know if Bioflow have their own website also can you buy them anywhere on the high street?
Thanks!
Ps I do mean a bracelet - not a dog collar!!! :rotfl:0
