When does interest start to get charged?

I always clear my balance in full every month but this month I'm going to need to make 2 payments in order to clear it in full.
I get paid weekly and know I'll be able to clear it but by making one maybe do they class that as "only" payment and then start charging interest or is interest applied from the date which a payment must be made?
I could propbably stick the first payment into a savings account but I'm worried that I may be tempted to dip into it.

if you pay in full by the 'pay by date' then you will pay no interest whether you make only one payment or more0
