Minimum payment, refund to card

An item I bought via Ebay has not been received and the seller has refunded me the total today (excellent seller no complaints just refunded on request).

My card statement was issued 3 days ago and the minimum payment is less than the refunded amount.

Will this refund count as payment towards the minimum payment?

Usually not. You still need to make the min payment requested.

It varies from issuer to issuer. I suggest calling them to confirm.

Does it bring your balance to zero? If not, why not make the minimum payment anyway? Or more? Surely avoiding paying the minimum payment yourself will cause the debt to cost more and take longer to clear?

Not my place to judge how you personally run your account, just sayin' )

You may get some useful anecdotal advice if you say which card you have.

You should get more useful advice if you call the CC company and ask them (but of course customer service people don't always understand their own company's products).
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.
