UPVC Door mechanism

Hi,
Hope someone can point me in the right direction.
I have a UPVC porch door, which is split in two.
One side has a handle and lock with key and opens up fully.
The other half is always locked and I am unable to open it.
The only way I can unlock the otherside is by unscrewing 10 screws and then pulling the long flat bar that goes from top to bottom to keep it locked in place.
I'm sure I could replace this "long flat bar" with a sliding lock mechanism.
Anyone point me in the right direction?
Much appreciated.

hi,
thanks for the feedback.
but the issue here is not that the door has moved and cannot be opened.
I want to be able to open the other side of the door as and when required without unscrewing all the bolts.
I just need a replacement mechanism that has a lever (slider) that i can move so that I can open the door fully open.
i just need to know what the mechanism is called to replace.
basically the porch door is a double door and only one side opens. the other side is fixed and I want the ability to open the otherside as well to get large items into the house without the need to disassemble the mechanism.0
