Complaints against EDF

Does anyone know the company name to complain to when you have a problem with an energy supplier? Its normally Off...something! (i.e. Offsted) but I can't find it. Basically I've been trying to get our Electricity onto Dual Fuel with EDF for 368 days now and they are still making excuses. They are also charging us for the wrong gas meter (reported 120 days ago and still not resolved). I will give them a chance to offer compensation on both accounts, but I have a feeling it will be a low amount so want to check who I can go to, to make an official complaint. Thanks

Energywatch is the correct place to go to. The first thing it sounds like needs to happen is to get the correct meter information updated.

err why are you still trying to change to them if it's such a problem for them... why not report the problem with the meter to energywatch to get it resolved, then change to someone else instead?

Interesting snippet: In the latest JD Power customer satisfaction survey, EDF came bottom for both gas and electricity....

By the way, the official regulator is Ofgem

But they will just direct you to Energywatch.

And agreed - don't go to EDF! Plenty of better suppliers (and you could have a green tariff too).

  • i'm with edf and been ok but then again i haven't had any disputes with them - who would you recommend to change to - price being the main selling point!

If it's just price (and why wouldn't it be!) then the main site has an article

Don't forget that many companies offer Green tariffs at exactly the same cost as a 'normal' one. Save money and save the planet!
