Body work prices - what is it likely to cost?
I have a micra and I have ripped the front bumper a couple of years ago. Then at the end of last year, I was coming out of a car park but scraped the passenger side on a long concrete bollard, causing a big long horizontal dent, both along the door and the rear side body.
If I want these fixed, what sort of prices would I be looking at? Its a 3 door.

usually about 100 - 200 a panel
can be a lot cheaper if you can take the door in your self as they charge for removing the door (if it needs to be removed) they will charge for removing bump strips etc
obviously you cant take the rear quarter in but i would reckon 300ish to do the door and quarter panel depending on if it can be filled, knocked out and skimmed or it might need a new quarter panel welding on0 -
1. Call local places for quotes.
2. Go with the cheapest.0 -
thanks, i need some basic idea so that when i get quotes i can see what others think
the first place has said, new bumper (expected that), which is £130 and 1 hour labour
the side damage can be beaten out and filled with a bit of filler, then repainted. that will be 18 hours labour, plus paint
so the total quote came to £1071. the side damage is on the door and the side body, its like a crease along the side, worse on the side body and has gone round the door trim a bit0 -
at that price i would leave it as it is
it will only get marked again by other people maybe get it done if your due to sell it0 -
but the paint has all scraped off, down to the metal
would i be able to claim on my insurance? i only have 3 years ncb and am fully comp, but suspect that my excess is 250 (might even be 500)0
