Can you sell the voucher on eBay?

Because it took them over a month to email me it there isn't time. It runs out on the 21st January. I also couldn't see anyone wanting to buy it considering its limitations when compared to the 'paper' ones on there.

The tree would have been bought anyhow and did not have any option but to get it delivered so was forced.

I did have an option on who I could buy it from though and did chose Argos. I did it because even though the tree was £3 dearer than Amazon it would work £2 cheaper once I got the voucher.

As for your example about "A game is £10. P&P is £5.95. You buy the game using the voucher and have it delivered and it costs you £10.95, as opposed to the £15.95 it would have cost if you didn't have the voucher",
I could go into the store, pay £10 get the game and save myself 95 pence and throw the voucher away. So in effect it is worthless.

As for getting what I really wanted i.e. a DVD, why is it that I can use a voucher in store for one but cant online? You think thats fair?

It is after all the same supposed deal. Or is it that online customers are not rated by argos and therefore not looked after

A voucher given in store can only be redeemed in store.

A voucher/code given online, can only be redeemed online.

That's how it works, so why don't you understand that?

And you weren't forced to have the tree delivered, you chose to have it delivered.

    Crikey. :wall:

If you are unable to read the terms and conditions when shopping on-line perhaps you should limit yourself to shopping in-store.

When the weather permits of course.

Jeeeezzz How hard can it be to understand this. I know it can only be redeemed online. I read the terms and conditions. That isn't my gripe.

My gripe is that even though it is the same promotion as the instore one, the voucher I have got is vastly inferior to the one I would have got if I had bought it in store.

Ergo, delivery customers are getting a raw deal when compared to customers who go into the shop

    Why can't you understand that?

As for the tree, I wanted a tree and so was going to get one. The weather determined that I could not physically go and collect one. Therefore the only other option was to get it delivered.

I use the adjective 'forced' under section 4 of the following definition

–adjective 1. enforced or compulsory: forced labor.

    2. strained, unnatural, or affected: a forced smile.

    3. subjected to force.

    4. required by circumstances;

i.e. the circumstances were that I wanted a tree and the requirement was that it had to be in my house. :rotfl:

You knew the T&C but decided that, for you, Argos should change them:cool:

The terms and conditions do not state that online customers will have a lot less choice for redeeming their vouchers when compared to their in store counterparts.

Well that is just ridiculous. I didn't want them changed at all. I only expect the same as a person with a paper voucher not less.

It is not like I got a reduction online. I paid the same money for the same product with the same promotion and yet the voucher I get is
    inferior to the paper one.

Almost as ridiculous as saying you were "forced" into doing something:D

and almost as ridiculous as you not realising that the adjective forced can be used in more than one instance with more than one implied meaning.

    In my case number 4.

    Forced

–adjective 1. enforced or compulsory: forced labor.

    2. strained, unnatural, or affected: a forced smile.

    3. subjected to force.

    4. required by circumstances;

Nevertheless English language apart, it still dosen't alter the fact that I believe Argos should treat customers equally and that just because a customer gets something delivered they should not be predjudiced against.

They should get and expect the same level of service/promotions as a person who shops in storewith a paper voucher not less.

It is not like I got a reduction online. I paid the same money for the same product with the same promotion and yet the voucher I get is
    inferior to the paper one.

Indeed and it was none of the above - it was a choice on your part.
