Haggling with a new stewart milne/Bett home?

Hi everybody this is my first post and i thought id ask for some advice in buying a new build as im hearing lots of stories about people who are haggling on the price.
I am hoping to go for the assured sale which means they will market my house and buy it from me in four weeks if it doesnt sell.
Is it being cheeky to ask for a discount if they are buying mine?

Thanks:beer:

Nope ask away. No harm in asking.
We looked at the SM development in Arbroath about 9 months ago and the sales rep then made it clear they were offering all they could to get you to sign.

  • I'd say it's not cheeky at all, I've heard of people get a full part ex and £50k off new homes. I'm not saying that's what to aim for, I think that's exceptional; but it does show just how big their margins are.

Just tell them what you 'need' to get the deal done i.e. you won't be able to afford carpets, appliances etc. as you're really stretching yourself by buying the house. Or give them a figure that is the 'max' you can borrow (it doesn't actually have to be).
  • ok thanks guys :j
