16 hours?

i am currently unemployed(jsa), recently split from husband, 2 kids.
Have been offered a 15 hour a week job, quite low money but i need and want to work.
What difference does it make to benefits if i work under or over 16 hours? I could ask a friend to employ me for 2 hours if it is going to make a difference, or does it need to be from one job?
new to all of this and very confused.
Thank you

I'm sorry I don't know the rules for people with kids so can't really help much. I know that I need to work 16 hours minimum to sign off jsa. Also vaguely that anything over 16 hours affects wtc etc. Someone else will be along that knows more soon.0

If you work 16 hours per week you can claim working tax credits.i am currently unemployed(jsa), recently split from husband, 2 kids.

If you work 15 hours per week you can't claim working tax credits, if you go down the 15 hours per week you get to keep the first £20 you earn then after that JSA deduct £1 for £1 from your benefits. Personally I would take the 16 hours and no it doesn't have to be with one employer.*SIGH*
