PCN 62J in Croydon Surrey

Hi folks,

Last week I received a PCN in post from Croydon Council for a 62J contravention. I requested and have then received evidence pictures as well

I can recall the incident. I went into my local surgery to pick up my daughter's presciption. There is no parking around, apart from one parking spot in front of the Surgery (off road). To be honest, there was a car parked there already. As I knew I will only be gone for a few minutes (prescription was ready for collection), I parallel parked my car on pathway with hazard lights turned on.

A few days later, the PCN arrived. I now know that it is illegal to park on pathways, can I dispute this PCN in anyway, as money is a bit tight just after xmas...

I read somewhere that the PCN has to be served on the day of contravention, but noticed that this letter was printed/sent 5 days after the contravention happened. I requested them photos as well, which are attached at the end as well. The pictures are somewhat vague as it was raining at that time.

I am attaching the letter and photos soon. Thanks for reading and appreciate your feedback.

Well you have done the right thing by already posting over on pepipoo (link).

I have had a look and think the photos are not great but cannot see anything obvious to me about the PCN. They can send these types of PCN by post but are only supposed to use cameras where it's impractical for a CEO to patrol on foot.

Wait and see what pepipoo tell you, maybe they will find something else as they're the experts.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

PCN's can be used using approved cctv's Pepipoo will go over it and find any points of appeal. Picture evidence looks poor.
  • Parking on pavements in London is generally difficult to get off from, you're best on pepipoo, they will help if possible.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

I see you bumped your post! If no one has answered maybe they cant find anything wrong with the PCN. The picture is poor but have you 4 wheels on the pavement?

Yes, I was parallel parked outside the surgery. So all the wheels are on the pavement.

  • Just pay up? You were parked on the pavement after all.

People normally use the phrase parallel parking to refer to parking on the carriageway parallel to a line of already parked cars (which are parked adjacent to the kerb), as opposed to actually parking on the pavement.

I know you probably think as I would that your daughters prescription was more important then a parking contravention, but if the boys and girls on Pepipoo cant find anything wrong with the PCN, I don't think you can go anywhere with this.
