My daughter is currently owed thousands in maintainance and after 4 years of the letter been sent back claiming he was not at that address, changing jobs constantly and basically giving the c.s.a the run around they did a deductions from earnings order but gave the _________ notice so the _______ gave up his job and has been living off beneifts for the last 8 months. Aparently he sent off an official letter claiming to have moved house but this turned out to be another scheeming trick to get out of paying, in the end they got all his wage slips from previous employers and the title amount is what he owes but he can only pay £5 per week due to being on benefits but i have yet to recieve a payment because there is a 13 weeks delay in deductions from benefits but as soon as they tell him they are deductiong he switches benefits (J.S.A, INCAPACITY, NEWDEAL, JOB TRAINING, INCOME SUPPURT) so its back to the begining and start all over again:mad:
all i get from the C.S.A is "theres nothin we can do, we cant jump staright to a deductions order we have to give him the chance to pay first, we have to go down all routes before we resort to the recovers team" blah blah blah blah
Is there anything they can do as i just feel like i am getting fobbed off all the time

Unfortunately the CSA are about as useful as a chocolate teapot so there's little you can do. The only thing the CSA are good for is to harrass the ex and generally make his life that little bit more awkward.
I wouldn't pin any hopes on actually seeing any money. Not fair, not nice but sometimes when you've banged your head against a brick wall for long enough its less painful to just stop and accept it.0 -

Rubbish! They can bang a DEO on him straightaway given his history. They have his NI number. You must keep the pressure on. Have you put in a complaint and got your MP involved?0 -
Thanks for your replies, im just soooooo angry at it all. I got transfered to the mystery realm and got cut off 3 times, i guess thats how they handle tough cases, just sticking their head in the sand untill the C.S.A get scrapped0

What is it with theses people who don't want to pay for their children? I don't think I will EVER understand it. Surely they love their children? Assuming the answer is yes, why won't they pay for them? (unless they genuinely can't, that is different).
I know if my husband and I had split up when our son was young, there is no way I'd even have to ask him for any money (assuming son was with me) - he'd be so worried we hadn't got enough we'd have worked it out between us how much all three of us needed so that we all had a decent quality of life.
Sorry, not very helpful....I just don't understand where they are at, that's all.
OP. I hope your daughter gets what she is owed soon.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -

Agreed. I have had four years of my ex playing games over payments which the csa have accepted. In my case, he stayed in one workplace, but kept making token payments everytime they threatened a deduction of earnings. Last Christmas for example he paid £2.97 for a month on the grounds it was 'all he could afford'. He is earning £104,000 per annum and had just had a £10,000 bonus. He has only himself to support. Eventually after four years, I got a deduction of earnings on the ground of his poor payment record.
Do not them write off the arrears, continue your fight and write to your mp requesting a DEO.0 -

As he earns 104K, you must be aware that you can apply to the Courts under Schedule 1 of The Children's Act 1989?
I have been through the changing jobs scenario and when we split up I took his NI number
I used to phone them every couple of weeks and eventually he stopped playing that game. 0 -

Apply to the courts for what? If I can get an extra this will be welcome as I have a daughter with additional learning needs and I spend a lot on resources to help her.0 -
