£260 Flights to Hong Kong

Hi,
I flew there and back as it were, LGW to HKG return.
Oasis are fine - not fantastic, but no where near as bad as you fear! You get two decent meals, coffee, tea, water, seat back entertainment, head phone, pillows, blankets and a seat. Other food and drink is extra. Duty free is available to purchase on board, but they don't push it in your face. Airport experience is similar to everyone else. Leg room is fine for me, and the same as most others with 747s.
Check in in Hong Kong can be very easy - use the MTR (their Underground) Hong Kong or Kowloon Airport Express check in up to 24 hours in advance - get a full day extra with no worry about waiting at the airport and safe in the knowledge that your bags will be on your flight and not forgotten!
For the price, what you get is amazing! They guarantee at least 10% of seats at their lowest prices. There are things they need to work on, but isn't that the same with all airlines! Don't expect Singapore Airlines, but don't expect Ryanair either!!! 8/10 is my assessment ;-)

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this post! £75 for a ticket to my favourite city.... so I looked and tried to book today (8 November) for a flight on 12 December, within the spec of the offer as seen on the web site. It quite clearly states that all tickets bought etc etc will be priced at £141. The booking system obviously has not been informed. The price quoted for me was £181.67 - £75 for the ticket and £106.67 in taxes as follows:
YQ - Fuel surcharge LGW £33.67
UB - UK Passenger service charge LGW £13.00
GB - UK air passenger duty business LGW £40.00
GB - UK air passenger duty economy LGW £20.00
So the ticket engine, or whatever it is called added up ALL the taxes and added them to the ticket cost. Not very clever.
As it is I can't go before the offer ends, but it was worth it to see it in black and white on the web site, except that they wanted to charge too much!! Oh well, such is the stuff of dreams, but I will be watching this outfit to see if they really do repeat this price now and then.
Thanks for the tip, even if I couldn't use it.:T0 -
Voyager2002 wrote:Firstly, you might find Hong Kong has more than you imagine: great national parks and wilderness areas, as well as the island of Lamma, where cars are banned but there are plenty of beach-side bars and great sea-food restaurants. I could easily stay there for two weeks without getting bored.
Anyway, you can easily get to China or to Macau. For cheap flights from Macau, check out Air Asia or Tiger Air.
For discounted flights from Hong Kong itself, there is a bucket shop called Aero that has a good web site.
thanks i will have a look!!

I'm flying to Hong Kong on SATURDAY!!!! i'm sooo excited. Yes, flying with OHK. I booked my tickets well before the special offer, in fact, 3 days after the website became live (wasn't I eager!).
will tell you all how it goes. One thing that did really impress me, a guy from WHK phoned me on Sunday to tell me the change in flight time!! BA just send you an email! OHK did both! I'm going to enjoy it...0 -

Is it just me, or have all the £75 flights now gone?0

I saw loads yesterday throughout the end of this month & December.
That's presuming you're not looking for £75 as a 'final' price!0 -
Found some thanks! Me and the girfriend have just booked 26th June - 12th July at £261 each.
Thank you for the heads up!0 -
Hi,
Has anyone here flown with Oasis yet? Any feedback - good or bad?
We're already booked with Cathay, but would like to know for future reference. Also, has anyone who is resident in the UK successfully booked on the HK site rather than the UK one? Given the current rate of exchange, it seems even cheaper to book through the Hong Kong site!
