Total Parking Solutions ticket at hospital

I am furious. I moved my car at the Bristol chrildrens hospital to pick my son up from the A&E fracture clinic where he had just had a full leg plasted cast fitted to his leg, which was broken in 3 places. I did admittedly park in a bay that said Accident and Emergency disabled patients. Call me stupid, but I thought seeing as my son could not walk and the hospital is placed on a very steep hill, I would be able to park here to collect him in a wheelchair. When I returned I had a £60 fine stuck on my widow for being parked there foe 2.36 min, I was there about 10 min. I have emailed Total Parking Solutions and they have said as a 'gesture of goodwill' they will reduce the ticket by half.
It isn't the £30, I have no issue with paying a fine if I feel I have committed a offence, but the parking attendant saw me, saw my struggle to get my son into the car, saw a 'blue badge' holder get out of his car to help me, and yet still refused to cancel the ticket. I really don't understand how they can charge someone stopping at a&e to collect a child who has been hit by a car? This is NOT what you need after a trauma like this, my poor son saw me burst into tears, this was the final straw.
I am prepared to take this to court if I have to, but I really would not like this to affect my credit rating.

  • Calm down, have a cup of tea.
Now you feel better you can get down to the real work of just ignoring the blighters. You will get about 5 threatening letters but its safe to ignore these as well.
You won't go to court so--
    you won't get a CCJ
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

    1 - It's not a fine
2 - It won't affect your credit rating unless Total Parking Solutions takes you to court (unlikely), wins (very unlikely) & you refuse to pay what the judge orders you to pay within 30 days.
3 - Ignore, ignore & ignore, you have committed no crime, the landowner has suffered no damages, so ignore.

Ignore it anyway but I thought this was self explanatory, " Accident and Emergency disabled patients." you were collecting a disabled patient from A&E ??

Blue badges don't count in a private car park, and obviously your son was disabled, albiet temporarily, ignore ignore ignore
  • Thanks everyone, I am going to ignore!
