I recently sold an item on ebay, the person paid via paypal and i printed a packing slip from the payment with her name and address.
She e-mailed me a week later saying she had not received the parcel, i told her to check at her local sorting office and email me again if it did not turn up as i had got a proof of posting certificate.
Three weeks later i get the parcel returned as it did not have the complete address on it, she had not put her house number in any details on her paypal or ebay contact addresses.
Here lies the problem it cost £4.74 to post and i feel she is in the wrong for not putting her full address on her accounts, so e-mailed her and said she will need to send postage costs of £4.74 again so i can re-send it or otherwise i will refund her the original costs less post and packaging.
She is becoming quite aggressive implying i am trying to rip her off and i really don't know what i should do.
Any advise on this would be appreciated

Point her in the direction of her partial address, if you can scan the package that shows it was returned and the stick to your guns. You might lose a chargeback (not having a tracking number) but you might as well not make it easy if they are being unreasonable.0

I think it depends on how much profit you've made from her. If you want good feedback and you made a tidy profit I'd split it with her 50/50. However if she's being a real cow then make her pay for it all.My Doctor told me that "1 out of 3 people who start smoking will eventually die." The other two apparently became immortal.

Hi thanks for the replys
I charged her £5.50 for post and packaging at it cost me £4.74 to post so i did not make a big profit out of posting the item to her.
I have just been on to my paypal account and she has now put in a claim stating she has not received the item!!Sarah x0 -
I would say that it depends on how much you have made from the sale and how much you would lose out on if you did repost it.
If she does an Item Not Delivered then she may well win although I think that the thing to do is see if you can contact paypal and see what they suggest.
I certainly wouldnt want to be out of pocket from the item and would probably end up going 50/50, then again I would only send to the paypal registered address so if she has it wrong then its her fault!Weight Loss - 102lb0 -
Make sure that you respond to the dispute and explain that the item was sent to the paypal registered address and was returned as the address was incorrect. Also state that you have post office evidence of this etc.
Fight it - but Im not too sure what the outcome could be!Weight Loss - 102lb0 -
Make sure you respond to the dispute saying her postal details were incomplete and that the item was returned...
Has she told you the correct address yet? You could say that you still await correct details and payment for re-delivery.My TV is broken!

Report her to ebay for having incorrect/ invalid contact details. It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.
Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.0 -

I like it!
If she's going to be an awkward moo about it she deserves it. My TV is broken!

You can't trust anyone, always best to check the address by getting the official Royal Mail postal address for the post code from the Royal Mail web site.
Split the additional costs 50/500
