Mounting LCD tv on wall

I am thinking of mounting my 32" LCD tv on the wall and would also like to dispose of the tv unit it currently sits on, however where do I put my Sky HD and surround sound boxes? what happens to all the associated wiring? I have seen a product called "D-Line" to hide the wires from the TV has anyone got any ideas I could use? Pictures of your own set up would be really helpfull.
Thanks in advance.

  • Depends on exactly which way you want to do it, and all in one solution, or a variety to choose from or just cable management.

Just look through the above, decide your preference then see where you can get it cheapest.

  • The tv is in the corner so I will have to get a bracket that tilts and turns. I am looking for a solution to enable me to ditch the unit the tv currently sits on and houses the Sky HD and surround sound boxes.

A TV mount that will articulate through 45 degrees with the weight of a 32 inch won't be cheap, one with housings for sky etc box's will be very expensive, and even then will not provide cable storage solutions.

TBH I faced the same issue years ago and I took inspiration from the BESTÅ BOÅS but built my own very similar unit in gloss white.

My own version is not floor standing but starts three foot high on hidden fixings and was designed so not a single cable can be seen. Making the unit was ok but chasing the wall to accept mains / Virgin cables / NAS stuff and speakers out was a messy job.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
I have all of my boxes - cable, amp, bluray, etc. in a cupboard under the stairs. To control it all I use a pair of Powermid transmitter/receiver units like these.

    Powermid XL

The actual audio/video cables from the cupboard to the tv run along inside some trunking above the skirting board. As my tv sits on a stand I dont have to hide the cables up the wall.
