Insurance on a Mazda MX5

Have recently entered my second childhood and added an MX5 to my present stable. This is in addition to my present car (old boys toy !) Am having problems with the insurance, have yet to find a company that will allow me my full no-claim bonus on the MX.
I can obviously only drive one car at a time but I'm told I have to start from scratch again to earn the bonus on the MX, even though I get the full 60% on my main car. Does any-one see a way out please.

  • you cannot use you NCB on two policy's, so you will have to start from scratch how old is the mx5 15yrs old? if so you wont need NCB for classic car insurance.

you wont a find a insurer who will allow you to have you already in use NCB on another policy.

There are plenty of Insurers who will mirror the no claims bonus on your first car onto your second car providing you have an acceptable driving record.

The best people to speak to would be a local broker (Not Swintons).

Even a 10 year-old car could qualify for classic insurance, especially something as lovely as an MX5.

Checkout the mx5 owners club, See who they use.

Try Chris Knott. I used them for 5 years when insuring my Capris.

Good idea using classic car insurance. Limit the mileage you can do a year and the cost should be ok
