Can I claim housing benefit if my name is on a mortgage

Hello I have split up with my partner and want to move out of the home we both own. I have not worked for over 3 years due to depression and have now been declared bankrupt. My partner has bought the trustees share which was mine of the equity in the house and I've made no contribution to the mortgage or household costs during that period. The problem is that my partner by their own doesn't earn enough money to apply for a new mortgage in their name thus releasing me Ive been told that because my name is still on a mortgage then im not entitled to housing benefit. Is this true. Any help gratefully recieved. Thanks

If the house is for sale then I believe you can claim housing benefit0

Is the house up for sale? If it is then yes you can get hb, if it not then you are not entitled because the house will be taken into account.
The house, if up for sale, can be ignored from your benefit claim for 26 weeks and then your claim should be reviewed again.
Did your hb sect send you a 2nd property questionnaire?0
