McKenzie Debt Collection Letters

Hi, not sure whether this is the correct place to post this but i couldnt see a more apprioriate section.
basically my wife has received some letters from McKenzie Debt collection agency but when we checked her credit report there isnt anything on it. Where do we stand with that? it says their speak to the courts if we dont reply
Any advice aappreciated.

You don't say what the letters are about but I guess they claim that your wife owes money to somebody or something. They may be trying a scattergun approach and sending letters to everyone they can find with the same name as the real debtor.
If you are absolutely certain that your wife is not responsible I would suggest that you ignore the letters. You may wish to file them for later evidence if you ever wish to accuse the company of harassment.Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

Hi, Yes it appears their for a credit card debt apparantly. If this was the case then surely something would show on her credit report would it not?!

Not if the default or possible CCJ is over six years old.
If they have no CCJ and you've not paid anything or admitted the debt in the last six years it will probably be barred, not enforceable.
If they have a CCJ then that's different, you can check for a CCJ for a small fee at the Registry Trust Online.
