Hi im asking on behalf of a friend, they have been off sick due to genuine health problems for a year and still undergoing tests.
He still have a job to go back to when fit and been cleared by the consultant and DVLA.
He was on company sick pay till that ran out and he was put on ESA of £65.
He recieved a letter asking him to attend a medical for ESA on the 23rd Dec 2010, trouble is he didnt recieve it till the 31st Dec and then they were on holiday due to xmas period.
He rang on 4th jan as soon as they were open to inform them of situation, and he was told they would send him another appt and would be sent to decision maker.
Now he has recieved aletter to say they have stopped his ESA as he didnt put it in writing.(would have done if been told that at the time) . so he wrote to them ,now is having to wait again to hear what is happening and whether he will continue to recieve his benefit.
What is he supposed to live on in the meantime as this is first time ever on benefits.
Please if anyone can help then would be appreciated as to what his next move should be.
