Can i still appeal this overpayment? WFTC

Hi all,

Briefly in 2003/04 i was told by HMRC that i had received close to £7000 in an overpayment of WFTC (Tax Credits).

They had not registered my partner as moving in,hence the overpayment.I had to provide them with all the information of the time i made the call etc etc for them to entertain the case of appeal.

I was close to having my second child and at the time could not be bothered to fight the case.It is very nearly at the end of me paying back the money and now i want to appeal this overpayment.

Can i do this?

Any help on this would be much appreciated.

Doubt it very much, this is an extract from the HMRC website

    Deadline for appeals

Normally, you have to appeal within 30 days of when the Tax Credit Office sent you their decision. In special cases they'll give you more time but you must tell them your reason for making a late appeal.
The Tax Credit Office can't accept an appeal dated 13 months or more after they sent their decision. If they can't accept your late appeal, they will pass your request to an independent tribunal to decide.
