Using credit card legal services

Options
I understand you are able to use your credit card company to pursue a legal claim if you have had a problem with something you bought using your card. Does anyone know how to do this? I have an issue with United Airlines not paying compensation under the EU legislation and I used my Virgin Money mastercard to pay for the flights in question.
Can anyone help pls?

Thanks

  • Are United airlines based in an EU country?

Does your credit card offer legal expenses cover?

The credit card company are themselves jointly liable under the consumer credit act.
That's not the same as legal expenses cover that I've never heard of before.

    Were the flights over £100?
If so then you call the card company and say you want to make a claim.
They will either send you a form or take details over the phone.
  • Why would the card issuer be liable to pay compensation?

Yes the flights were more than £3,000. United Airlines is an US airline but the flights were out of London so covered by the EU regulations.
Thanks for your comments so far.
