Hiya,

I'm trying to hire a cleaner for my property. the agencies terms and conditions require I have contents insurance which includes public liability.

The problem is that 4 yrs ago I had flooding from an outside source. My house (rented from housing association) is in a cul de sac at the bottom of a steep hill and there was a huge amount of rainfall in half an hour that caused a flash flood. I had to replace carpet and have a humidifier for a few weeks. It came into the property through the front door to a distance of about 3 feet.

Now none of the price comparison sites will give me a quote and I don't know what to do. I don't currently have any house insurance. My housing association will have building insurance though.
