Cheap Base Layers for Skiing

Hello, I am about to go skiing in 10 days for the first time. I have never been on a winter holiday before, always sun based. I have lent jacket, pants etc but need to get a base layer or two. I am on a budget so was wondering about some I have seen at Sports Direct or Aldi.
I don't want to get all the way out there and freeze my bum off wishing I had paid a bit more and gone for some better quality stuff.

Has anyone tried used the cheaper ones or found some bargains on brand stuff at all?

Thank you

Ahh yeah thanks I looked at those two aswell. Have you used them yet? DO they work ok?
  • Whilst not a skier, I am outside a lot and in that nasty period before and around Christmas I was very snug, I went to Decathlon and bought various thermal and thin fleece stuff, prices are ok, what you will appreciate in there is that you get what you pay for. Some days when it was -8 I had 5-6 layers on and several layers of thin clothing is better than a single layer of very thick clothing for mobility. It also makes it easier to adjust your comfort level by adding or taking away layers.

Essential bits, socks or felt liners to keep your tootsies warm, if your feet are warm then it makes you always feel better. Hat as decent a one as you can with a thermal liner preferably with something to protect the ears.

As I said I was out in the bad weather for upto 6 hours at a time and found things no problem.
