Cat acting strange...

Hey all,
Just sharing my thoughts really and wondering what you guys would do.
I've had my cat around 5 months now and when I first took her home (I got her from a family who no longer wanted her) she would stand at the front door and meow all night long but it seemed to only be at night. I just figured this was with changing homes and she used to be an outdoors cat, she also had not long had kittens so I just thought she might want to try get back home.
Since then things have been fine, she's such a lovely cat, I've allowed her to go out but she refuses to go (apart from once). Problem is that now she has started standing at the door meowing all during the day (not at night anymore). I've tried distracting her and she will come away from it but before long she'll be back there meowing some more.
I have no idea what is wrong or how to go about making her content.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Is there something out there she's miaowing AT? Sounds obvious but my indoor kitty can be bonkers at the patio doors with a tail like a loo brush if certain neighbourhood moggies come into the garden. She'll also spend hours at the back patio doors anyway watching the world go by (then go to the front window to check if the weather's any better there) - it's like TV to her.
The other one that set her off absolutely mental was a robin sat on the berry bush the other side of the window happily scoffing his face totally oblivious to the ball of furry wrath the other side of the glass. He showed up for about a week and she was NOT amused.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
Try the distraction thing.
Pin a cat toy on a string to the door and leave it there for a week, then gradually move it further into the house.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

Oh she's the exact same with the window :rotfl:
I actually live in a flat though, and there's definitely nothing going on out there when she's at the door. If I open the door to come in the flat she's always running out but all she does is investigate a bit (and she has an odd obsession with using my neighbours welcome mat as a scratch post).
If she was to go outside of her own accord it's the window she'd go through so it's not like she thinks that's how she gets outside even, unless she's in a cat carrier of course

It might be worth trying one of those dap defusers, might chill her out a bit. Either that or some catnip :rotfl:.Slimming World - 3 stone 8 1/2lbs in 7 months and now at target :j0
