Halifax MasterCard WHAT!

So I got a nice letter from the Halifax today informing me that my APR has gone up to 25.45%, that is an extra 17p in every £100 which is allot if you have a large balance on your card.

Maybe time to move.

You can opt out of this and keep your current APR, but it will close the account so no further transactions can go on it.

I did read that information on the letter but 25% is a bloody joke for CC.

Virgin jacked one of my cards upto 34.9%, yes it is a joke but they can do what they like.

You can opt out or transfer (or both technically speaking).

Interestingly I have been phones halifax every 6 months saying I wasn't happy witht he APR and have now got it down to 14.9%, so depends how good a customer they view you to be there may be some wriggle room.

Close the account. Capital 1 done that to me years ago 34.9% would not budge so they dont get any money from me!
