Keyboard arrrrrgh!

My old laptop is temperamental at the best of times, in regards to everything however one thing that I cannot stand is my keyboard.
In fact Ive already had to rewrite this several times over so it makes sense - basically some of the keys just don't work when pressed, something that seems to come and go. I don't think its a simple case of things stuck under the keys etc.

My C and 2 keys used to not work but now do, sometimes my D will not work and lately my Delete and P are not working properly, amongst any other key that decides just not to work now and again - it makes typing interesting to say the least....

Short of getting a USB keyboard which really isnt the most practical is there any suggestions at all?

erm well most laptops can have a new keyboard installed pretty easy so i would go down that route, they are usually pretty easy to fit - ie my sons laptop keyboard died after he split sugared coffee on it, £25 for a new keyboard, 1 screw 4 clips and one slide off and on connection and bobs your uncle a new fully working keyboard

on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

Assuming no spillages, clean it, turn it upside down and shake out any crumbs, check it is seated correctly (not bent), if that doesn't fix it, disconnect it from motherboard carefully and reseat the ribbon cable.

Find a nail file and insert the blunt end under one of the keys - start with something other than the spacebar as they are generally fixed in a different way to the other keys. Gently press down and the key's top should pop off. Then make sure you can reattach the top. You might want to trial this on a key you rarely, if ever, use. If that goes well, pop off the others and clean it out.
