Renault Megane (03) CV Joint
Hi guys, I'm after some advice.
The wife's car is a Renault Megane (03 reg - approx 70k miles) and there is a knocking from the front when steering - most particularly on full lock.
I've been told it's probably the CV joint which needs replacing.
What is the likely cost for this? I'm near Romford in Essex.
Cheers
Ross

I did a CV joint on a peugeot 206 just before xmas. With some cars you have to buy the whole drive shaft incl the cv joint, but on the one I did I was able to just buy the CV joint on its own. Cost £35 for the part. Fitting wise its straight forward. Pop the bottom ball joint off, pull the hub off the drive shaft, bend the cv joint down, tap the back of the cv joint hard with a hammer and it falls off. Re-assemble is the reverse. Took me about 30minutes. Garage wise, they would charge about 1hr for this I think, cost £50+VAT would be typical for a garage.0
