£25 free when opening a first direct account!

Options
hi guys,

the other day i recieved a leaflet from first direct offering £25 credit to the account providing £100 was there on 31-3-05.
i went to the web site and i was left a little confused as it says:

Joining incentives are valid for three months from the date the account is opened and will be credited within 28 days of the criteria being met. Incentives are only paid to customers who have not previously held an account with first direct and are limited to one per customer or joint account relationship.

does this mean if i pay in £100 on around 25mar and withdraw on 1-04-05 will i get £25? the wording on the leaflet was different to what the site says.
can anyone clarify this for me?

  • I was confused when it mentioned about how if you switch to FD account you receive £25 but one of their customer service told me its when you open an account.

    Online it says

'£25 when you apply on-line and transfer your salary/income to first direct.'

you might be able to standing order it across though - I should check the full T&Cs

    also it says

'When you apply for a Bank Account on-line and have a credit balance of £100, we will add £25 to your account.'

I need to get to the bottom of this!
  • Best thing is just to call up and see if you can just pay £100 into the account and get the bonus or having to pay your whole salary and then get your £25. If the worse come to the worse just complaint and tell them you saw it online when it did say they were offering £25 when £100 was credited into the account.
