Problem with drains cover on my home insurance

    Quentin, I am not just asking for opinions.....I am asking for advice - of course your advice is good, but perhaps others who read this thread may have direct relevant experience with good outcomes which they may wish to relate to me.

    If the brick ended up there during the building of an extension, the liability will fall to the builder.
  • ILW, I presumed that would be the case.....but cannot think of a way of proving it. Exactly the same bricks were used by another brickie to build a garden wall and by my next door neighbour for their wall too.

    Bear in mind that if the cover you have is "Emergency" Cover, it basically covers issues that are defined by the Insurers as an Emergency which is roughly an issue that could endanger life / cause injury or cause physical damage to your property.
