Post natal depression

Can anyone help me? I do not know what to do.

2 kids under 3 giving me headaches. No matter how many painkillers I take they do not work any more.

I just do not like kids. I do not know what to do.

OP - Have you contacted your Health visitor/GP yet?

Have you had a break recently? Even a couple of hours to yourself to get out? How much help do you get from the father?

Ring now and ask for an appointment asap - explain you are feeling very down and mention you think you may be postnatally depressed.

This happened to me after the birth of both my children and things improved greatly (for me) once I had opened up and got some medical help.

    Good luck hun :)

  • Also, contact HomeStart to see if they have a volunteer to help you. My friend had PND and said her HomeStart volunteer was a God-send. http://www.home-start.org.uk/needsupport/need_support

Hey Milla, i have a 6 year old, 2 year old and a 9 month old. I have days when i feel like this and find it helps if my OH takes them out of the house for a bit so i can have some 'me' time i spend 24 hours with them 7 days a week so 2 hours away from them works wonders. Is this feeling a one off or do you often feel like this? If you feel like this all the time then perhaps you could speak to your health visitor of GP like others have suggested.

Have a read of this, it is a good way to understand if you are suffering from PND.

Tablets aren't the only option. Homestart (you can self refer), counselling, cranial osteopathy are all good at helping.

Make sure you get a break from the children, at least once a week.
